Astro for Facebook Messenger App Reviews

Please find a way to fix your notifications. I still am seeing false-positive notifications in both the dock and the menu bar. Right now it says 1 and is blue when I have no new messages. There are several conversations that continue to alert me with a badge for a new message when there are no new messages. Extreme memory issues — Astro is taking up 2.4GB of memory. That’s more than my development IDE and browser combined!

Can the Facebook web be the mobile mode ?

I dont understand why it wont send my messages its annoying I just bought it and it wont send messages. Its really irritating. I dont know what else I can do.

I have been using this software for a long time , and now this version is very good, very stable. it is worth downloaded and recommended.

I have downloaded and used many apps for facebook.but Astro is a real native app for facebook. i love the feature for changing chat skin. Some bugs when loading have been fixed, it works steadily now.

I encountered some problems in the previous verison. so i send feedback to this Astro Team. The new version of Astro runs well on my MacBook Pro. I can see all my friends in the list. Thanks a lot. Please keep improving Astro.it is great app for facebook on Mac store.

i like ur app,i found that is a useful app. but how do I appear offline on Astro App?

I want to update my review. I had the below problem when I first installed. I contacted Astro, and they reached out to me, took my feedback, and fixed the problem promptly. Now it’s my go-to app for Facebook messages. I would now highly recommend. In addition to a great app, their service was excellent. I just purchased this app, and began a conversation with my wife. She was typing to me, and was not getting my responses. The “processing” bar was above each of my messages. They were never sent. I had to log back into facebook to finish my conversation. The interface looks nice, but if it will not push back to Facebook, it wont do for me. I would love to see it fixed and be notified that it now is working because I do like the interface. As for now, I have purchased and will be using another app.

It always says there is an unread message even right after I read it. It’s insanely annoying. I’ve reinstalled and restarted several times, I emailed their support and heard nothing. Terribly annoying and not worth the money.

There is an insane delay between recieving the messages and it appearing in the window.

There is a minute or so of lag between the message and the notification. There is a futher lag between the notification and the appearance of the message content in the message window. If you are chatting with someone, they may think that you are just very slow due to the lag.

I’m disappointed that this messenger is so buggy. It works much of the time, but there are a ton of minor annoyances. My two biggest gripes on the current version are: 1. I unnecessarily get logged out pretty often. 2. Messages are never marked as read, so I get bugged by the program to read old messages.

I lov enot having to have Facebook open and just have a break out chat like the old days. Given the limitations Facebook has on third party apps, this scrubber of messages is pretty good. There are definitely some kinks to work out, such as not always being able to immediately click on a message, but it’s a ways farther than any other app I’ve tried. Although, I do recall that in earlier versions of Astro, when pasting a link, it could preload the link and put a preview, much like on the web. It doesn’t appear to work that way anymore. Hopefully, that can be resolved in a future update.

I have the paid version of this software. I’ve been asking the developer about an issue for a month without any response. Also, the images do no show up in chat conversations. Looking at the company’s Facebook page will show that’s a common issue. The company’s Twitter and Facebook pages have been silent since the second week of January, so I suspect this developer has taken our money and moved on.

So when I first downloaded the APP it was great, now I can’t receive any pictures. It just shows a spinning circle. Messages don’t always sync with Messenger and some things are just delayed. I will keep using because its convenient for me to use the laptop and not carry my phone everywhere while Im at my desk working.

Several months ago, when I bought this, I would have given the app 5 stars. Now it is totally broken. PIctures do not appear. Connection to Facebook is often lost. Messages that others send through Facebook Messenger do not process properly. I am usually sensitive to issues like this happening when Facebook makes changes, but now it appears that the author is still taking people’s money, but no longer supporting the app. If this is the case, Apple should pull it so people stop getting ripped off.

DO NOT GIVE THIS DEVELOPER ANY MONEY. Every release makes the app less stable than the previous version. Images dont load anymore. Ive tried everything. Giving up.

I loved this app until Facebook or someone made a change that made it so that images no longer download in the app — the loading spinner just spins endlessly. Sending images is pretty commonplace in my experience, so this is an extremely aggravating, broken core feature. I wrote them over a month ago about this issue and never received any response. This issue has been going on for months and they haven’t released any updates. I no longer recommend this app.
